ITEM DESCRIPTION:

• We manufactured the R style spoiler from carbon fiber with a gloss finish (no painting required).

INSTALLATION:

1. Prepare the Surface:
– Clean the rear trunk surface of your Mercedes CLS-Class W218 C218 thoroughly using rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover. Ensure it’s free from any dirt, wax, or debris that could affect adhesion. Wipe the area dry with a clean cloth.

2. Test Fit and Alignment:
– Before applying any adhesive or tape, place the R Style carbon fiber rear spoiler on the trunk to confirm alignment and fitment. Use painter’s tape to temporarily hold it in place. Adjust the positioning if necessary.

3. Apply Double-Sided Tape:
– Cut the double-sided automotive tape into strips or sections that fit along the underside of the spoiler where it contacts the trunk surface.
– Remove the backing from the double-sided tape and carefully apply it to the designated areas on the spoiler. Ensure even coverage for a secure bond.

4. Apply Automotive Silicone Adhesive:
– Apply a thin, even layer of automotive silicone adhesive to the underside of the spoiler where it will make contact with the trunk surface. Avoid applying excessive silicone that might squeeze out during installation.

5. Position and Secure:
– Align the spoiler properly using the painter’s tape as a guide. Gently position it onto the trunk, pressing firmly to secure the adhesive and tape onto the surface.
– Apply uniform pressure across the entire spoiler to ensure proper adhesion.

6. Allow for Curing:
– Let the silicone adhesive and double-sided tape cure as per the manufacturer’s instructions. It’s typically recommended to avoid any movement or disturbance for at least 24 hours.

7. Clean Up:
– After the curing period, trim off any excess silicone that may have squeezed out during installation. Clean the area around the spoiler to remove any residue or smudges.

8. Final Check:
– Once the adhesive is fully cured, inspect the spoiler to ensure it’s firmly attached and aligned correctly. Gently test its stability by trying to move or wiggle it.
