INSTALLATION:

6. Apply Double-Sided Tape:
– Apply double-sided automotive tape to the backside of the side pieces in the areas that will come into contact with the vehicle’s body.

7. Apply Automotive Silicone:
– Apply a thin, even layer of automotive-grade silicone adhesive to the edges and attachment points of the extension blades.

8. Attach the Side Pieces:
– Position the side pieces on the marked areas and press them firmly to ensure the double-sided tape adheres to the vehicle’s body.

9. Secure the Blades:
– Depending on the design of the blades and the manufacturer’s instructions, use screws to secure them in place, applying automotive silicone around the screws to create a watertight seal.

10. Check Alignment:
– Use a level to ensure the extension blades are level and correctly aligned with the vehicle’s body lines. Make any necessary adjustments.

11. Final Inspection:
– Double-check that the side skirts extension blades are securely attached and that the silicone forms a watertight seal.

12. Clean Up:
– Remove any masking tape or excess adhesive, and ensure the sides of the vehicle are clean.

13. Test Drive:
– Take your BMW i8 for a short test drive to ensure the new side skirts extension blades remain securely in place and do not affect the vehicle’s performance or handling.
