ITEM DESCRIPTION:

• Our front BMW I8 bonnet vent add-on 2014-2019 is manufactured in-house using high-grade FRP (fiber reinforced plastic).
• It comes with a primer finish (unpainted).

INSTALLATION:

1. Park and Secure the Vehicle:
– Park your BMW i8 on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Prepare the Area:
– Ensure the front of the vehicle is clean and free from dirt and debris.

3. Position the Add-On:
– Temporarily place the front bonnet hood add-on on the vehicle’s hood to determine the optimal positioning. Ensure it is level and symmetrically aligned with the hood’s contours.

4. Mark the Placement:
– Use masking tape to mark the precise locations on the hood where the add-on will be attached.

5. Clean the Attachment Area:
– Wipe down the marked area with isopropyl alcohol or a similar cleaning solution to ensure it is free from grease and debris. Clean the backside of the add-on as well.

6. Apply Double-Sided Tape:
– Apply double-sided automotive tape to the backside of the add-on in the areas that will come into contact with the hood.

7. Apply Automotive Silicone:
– Apply a thin, even layer of automotive-grade silicone adhesive to the edges and attachment points of the add-on. This will help create a secure and waterproof seal.

8. Attach the Add-On:
– Position the add-on on the marked area of the bonnet, aligning it properly.
– Press the add-on firmly to ensure the double-sided tape adheres to the bonnet’s surface.

9. Check Alignment:
– Use a level to make sure the add-on is level and correctly aligned with the vehicle’s body lines. Make any necessary adjustments.

10. Final Inspection:
– Double-check that the add-on is securely attached and that the silicone forms a watertight seal.

11. Clean Up:
– Remove any masking tape or excess adhesive, and ensure the front of the vehicle is clean.

12. Test Drive:
– Take your BMW i8 for a short test drive to ensure the new front bonnet hood add-on made from FRP remains securely in place and does not affect the vehicle’s performance or handling.
