ITEM DESCRIPTION:

INSTALLATION:

1. Park and Secure the Vehicle:
– Park your BMW 1 Series F20 on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Prepare the Area:
– Ensure the rear of the vehicle is clean and free from dirt and debris.
– Use a hydraulic jack or car ramps to slightly elevate the rear of the vehicle for better access to the trunk area.

3. Position the Spoiler:
– Temporarily place the M Performance style carbon fiber rear spoiler on the trunk lid to determine the optimal positioning. Ensure it is level and symmetrically aligned with the vehicle’s body lines.

4. Mark the Placement:
– Use masking tape to mark the precise location where the spoiler will be attached.

5. Clean the Attachment Area:
– Wipe down the marked area with isopropyl alcohol or a similar cleaning solution to ensure it is free from grease and debris. Clean the backside of the spoiler as well.

6. Apply Double-Sided Tape:
– Apply double-sided automotive tape to the backside of the spoiler in the areas that will come into contact with the trunk lid.

7. Apply Automotive Silicone:
– Apply a thin, even layer of automotive-grade silicone adhesive to the edges and attachment points of the spoiler. This will help create a secure and waterproof seal.

8. Attach the Spoiler:
– Position the spoiler on the marked area of the trunk lid, aligning it properly.
– Press the spoiler firmly to ensure the double-sided tape adheres to the trunk’s surface.

9. Check Alignment:
– Use a level to make sure the spoiler is level and correctly aligned with the vehicle’s body lines.

10. Final Inspection:
– Double-check that the spoiler is securely attached and that the silicone forms a watertight seal.

11. Clean Up:
– Remove any masking tape and clean the surrounding area to ensure it’s free from any residual adhesive or debris.

12. Test Drive:
– Take your BMW 1 Series for a short test drive to ensure the new M Performance style carbon fiber rear spoiler remains securely in place and doesn’t affect the vehicle’s performance or handling.
